Privacy Policy
Last revised: October 2026. At tahoo.tech, we treat user privacy as a fundamental engineering standard, not an afterthought.
Our Core Privacy Principles
You can search, browse, copy coupon codes, and claim software deals completely anonymously.
When voting on deals, your IP is salted and SHA-256 hashed immediately. We never store raw IP addresses.
No invasive cross-site ad networks or data broker trackers following you around the web.
1. Data Minimization
We adhere strictly to the principle of data minimization: we collect only the data strictly necessary to provide and operate our directory. We do not require registration, login, or personal profile creation to access deals or search the platform.
2. Community Feedback & Cryptographic IP Anonymization
When you submit deal feedback through our "Is this deal working?" module or report a broken promo code, we need to prevent automated bots and bad actors from skewing vote tallies.
How We Handle IP Addresses:
Your IP address is processed exclusively in memory to generate a cryptographic, salted SHA-256 hash (ipHash). This one-way hash is mathematically impossible to reverse or correlate with your personal identity. We never write raw IP addresses to our database logs or storage.
3. Newsletter Subscriptions
If you voluntarily subscribe to our weekly deal digest:
- We collect only your email address.
- Your email is used solely to transmit curated weekly software discounts, trials, and perks.
- We will never sell, rent, or trade your email address to third-party marketers.
- You may unsubscribe at any time with a single click using the unsubscribe link included at the bottom of every message.
4. Cookies & Browser Storage
We do not use invasive third-party advertising cookies. We use browser local storage and essential session storage solely for:
- Theme preference: Remembering your choice between light and dark modes.
- Notifications tracking: Remembering which recent deal updates you have reviewed in the header notification bell.
- Session view deduplication: Preventing duplicate pageview counters during a single browser session.
5. External & Affiliate Links
When you click a Claim Deal button, you navigate to third-party websites operated by software providers. While our outbound links may include referral identification parameters (e.g. utm_source), third-party websites operate under their own independent privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies before creating accounts.
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold (such as newsletter emails). Because we do not associate browsing activity with personal identities, there is no browsing history to inspect or delete.
To exercise your rights regarding newsletter email removal, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Contact Us
If you have questions or concerns about our privacy practices, please contact our data privacy officer at [email protected].
